How Wind Turbines Work

Wind turbines work on a similar principal to the wind mill. As the wind blows, the force pushes on the blades of the turbine causing it to spin. Through the center line of the turbine is a small generator, which produces electricity as it spins. The faster and more often it spins, the more electricity it can produce.

As you can see in the image, the wind turbines we use resemblle a weather vane, not a large fan that you would see in wind fields. This compact design allows you to install units on the roof of your building, capturing the flow of the wind to produce electricity. Don't be fooled by its small size; the unique shape of the blades creates a "venturi effect" which amplifies the power of the wind to produce even more electricity.

Tax Incentives for Wind Power

Wind turbines produce clean electricity, with no CO2 emissions, fossil fuels or other negative impact on the environment. Classified as a clean energy product, it allows you tax incentives, accelerated depreciation and rebates that make the system incredibly affordable. Many building owners will realize their entire investment in just 2-5 years, with electricity produced in subsequent years coming for free.

Tenants are Looking for Green Energy

Very few building owners are offering green technology to prospective tenants. Tenants are asking for it and gain tremendous benefit from it, on a social, personal and marketing level. When you hear tenants boasting they are in a green building, you will understand what we mean. Most existing buildings (and few newly built buidings) offer wind and solar energy. By having it in your office, retail, residential or industrial properties, you separate yourself from your competition.
